CVT kits

In addition to individual variators, there are complete CVT kits with variator (front), torque spring, torque driver (rear) and V-belt. Well-known brands are available to ensure reliable quality: Stage6, Stage6 R/T, Motoforce, Motoforce Racing, Malossi, Polini, and Top Performances.

Popular models such as Yamaha Aerox and BW's, Piaggio Zip, TPH and NRG, Peugeot Kisbee, Jetforce and Speedfight, as well as Gilera Runner and Yamaha TMax can be serviced and/or tuned using these CVT kits.

Advantages of a complete CVT kit

A complete CVT kit ensures that all components are matched to each other, which is especially important for tuned engines. A price advantage is often included as well. CVT kits are available in different configurations, sometimes including two sets of weights and two torque springs, or in reduced versions without a torque driver and only with a V-belt.

CVT kit – standard or oversize

CVT components are subject to constant wear and need to be replaced at certain intervals to maintain proper function. Two types of CVT kits are available with different purposes:

For standard maintenance, a kit with a standard variator is sufficient and restores operation according to manufacturer specifications.

For racing engines, an oversize variator with an extended ratio range is recommended. The increased transmission range allows for a more direct start at lower rpm, while also enabling higher top speed at very high rpm (such as with a high-end cylinder).
If an oversize variator is used, all components must be matched: larger pulleys at the front and rear, along with a V-belt of the correct length. This is where a complete kit becomes especially useful.
