OEM ignition for scooters

In our category "Ignitions" you will mainly find complete ignitions (or at least the most important components such as rotor and stator) that do not increase performance. So you won't find internal rotor ignitions here.

In order to be able to offer owners of popular models such as Yamaha Aerox, Piaggio Zip and Typhoon, Peugeot Kisbee and Speedfight high-quality products, we work together with well-known brands as well as directly with the original equipment manufacturers. We stock products from Motoforce, MVT, GY6, Yamaha, Piaggio, Peugeot, Kymco, CPI and many others.

When to replace the ignition?

Before doing so, you should check all components that can influence spark formation: Spark plug, ignition coil, earth cable, spark plug connector and the woodruff key.

It is rare for the ignition itself to be defective. In some cases, however, the copper coils in the stator may be damaged or external influences such as severe engine damage or improper assembly may render individual components unusable. Occasionally, the wiring harness is also damaged.

In such cases, it is advisable to replace the entire ignition. You will then receive new, perfectly matched parts that will reliably restart the engine.

Note: If you are looking for an ignition to increase performance, you should look for an MVT ignition or an internal rotor ignition.

Tools for replacing ignition parts

Replacing the ignition is not difficult, but requires special tools: Get a suitable flywheel puller for your model.

Unlike tuning ignitions, no dial gauge is required here. The components are simply installed in the original position using the woodruff key, and the ignition will function exactly like the factory setup.
