The history of Boyesen

In 1972 Eyvind Boyesen, American of Norwegian descent, revolutionized the system of reed induction technology to make 2-stroke motorcycles more powerful. From then on, every motorcycle equipped with Boyesen outperformed those equipped with conventional reed valves. The name Boyesen quickly became synonymous with top performance for amateur and professional riders and the brand quickly earned a good reputation in the motocross world.

Boyesen - projects and products

Boyesen continued to evolve and transfer their know-how to other areas where two-stroke engines are used and must deliver top performance. The manufacturing quality was gradually perfected, more and more patents were filed and two-stroke engines all over the world are now equipped with Boyesen components as original equipment. Eyvind Boyesen was even called "Reed Man" for his groundbreaking invention.

The company continues to innovate as the founder believes that there is always room for improvement. With the advent of 4-stroke engines especially in the motocross sector, Boyesen of course continues to produce reeds, but also offers high flow water pumps for all types of engines, as well as lightweight and durable aluminum covers.
