The exhaust is far more than just another part — it defines the scooter’s character. Whether you want a street-legal setup, a sportier tone and more responsiveness, or maximum performance for the track, our online shop offers every option.

Matching the exhaust to the engine configuration is essential for both performance and durability. The choice also depends on usage: quiet and discreet for city riding, or uncompromising power for racing.

Why is the exhaust so important?

  • Derestriction: Stock exhausts limit power output, usually to keep top speed at 45 km/h.
  • Gas evacuation: Expels exhaust gases and, on catalytic models, ensures compliance with emission standards.
  • Noise reduction: The silencer keeps noise within legal limits, necessary for road approval.
  • Performance: Improves acceleration, response, and overall ride feel.
  • Design: Materials, finish and construction can be matched to personal preference.

⇒ Standard or OEM quality 50cc exhaust: Affordable, reliable and quiet. No power gain, but low maintenance. Examples: Stage6 Street, Tecnigas Silent Pro, Sito.

⇒ Sport exhaust: More power, quicker response, lower weight. Sporty look and slightly louder. Recommended models: Stage6 Pro Replica, Yasuni R, Leovince TT.

⇒ Racing exhaust: Built for racing cylinders of the same class. Not for daily use and require regular maintenance. Examples: Stage6 R/T, Yasuni, Malossi MHR, Polini Evolution.

⇒ High-end racing exhaust:Maximum output with minimum weight. Designed purely for competition and only compatible with matching high-performance cylinders. Popular models: Stage6 R/T, 2Fast, MXS Racing, Polini P.R.E, Malossi MHR Team.

Note: Only homologated exhausts are legal for road use. Non-homologated systems are restricted to track or private use.

Scooter Tuning: balanced Components for maximum performance

The exhaust is a key tuning part but only works effectively when the entire setup matches. Crankshaft, cylinder, carburetor, CVT, and intake belong to the same performance range and be properly adjusted. A narrow or undersized exhaust can cause overheating and engine failure.

By upgrading ffrom the factory exhaust, you will already notice an improvement in performance, but if you want to take it to the next level, you will need to invest in matching components. For maximum performance, the Stage6 R/T engine packs include exhaust, crankshaft, and racing cylinder – ready to turn any scooter into a beast. Complete kits from brands like 2Fast, Malossi, and Polini are also available.

Maintenance depends on exhaust type and finish. Chrome versions are especially durable and low-maintenance. Painted models hold up well but may burn at hot spots — rust should be checked and treated. Raw steel exhausts need a light oil coating to prevent corrosion.

In all cases, regularly check gaskets, springs, and mounts to ensure proper sealing and vibration-free operation. On systems with removable silencers, replace the packing material when noise increases to maintain both performance and compliance with noise limits.

FAQ – Common questions about scooter exhausts

→ When should an exhaust be replaced? Dents, bends or leaks cause power loss and excessive noise — replacement is necessary.

→ Can a racing exhaust be installed on a stock engine? Not recommended: low-end torque drops, high revs become harder to reach, and fuel consumption increases. Without tuning the carburetor and engine setup, it may perform worse than the stock exhaust.

→ Do materials make a difference? Yes: steel is strong and durable, aluminum is lighter, carbon ultralight, and titanium combines low weight with high strength. Material affects weight, heat dissipation and appearance.

→ What role does resonance play? In 2-stroke engines, the internal cone and counter-cone design creates pressure waves that optimize cylinder filling and improve performance.
