Description
Stage6 V-Force 3i Reed Valve by Moto Tassinari
Stage6 in collaboration with Moto Tassinari offer the V-Force 3i, a high-quality racing reed valve for Piaggio 2-stroke engines 125cc - 180cc.
Stage6 VForce 3 - Upgrade from 50cc to 180cc
The popular Stage6 VForce 3 reed valve was originally developed for 50cc engines. While it can also be installed on many 125–180cc scooters, it was not designed for the significantly higher airflow requirements and increased stress placed on the reed petals of larger engines. This often resulted in reduced performance and premature wear of the reed petals after only a few hundred kilometers.
To eliminate these limitations, Stage6 and Moto Tassinari jointly developed a reed valve specifically designed for modern 125–180cc scooters, featuring high-quality carbon reed petals.
Advantages of V-Force 3i Reed Valve
Thanks to its specially developed design, the engine can make full use of the increased airflow requirements of larger displacement setups.
- Improved airflow
- More responsive throttle response
- Higher engine output
- More consistent performance under high load
The high-quality carbon reed petals provide reliable operation even under heavy loads and throughout the entire RPM range.
Stage6 VForce 3 - Compatibility & Tuning Potential
Although this reed valve is designed for 125cc to 180cc engines, it also performs extremely well on high-performance 70–100cc racing engines equipped with carburetors from 25 mm and larger. However, if your Piaggio 50cc engine is not tuned accordingly, we recommend the Stage6 V Force 3 Piaggio Zip.
This makes the reed valve an excellent choice not only for maxi scooters, but also for demanding high-end racing setups that require exceptionally high airflow.

Reed valves for scooter, motorcycle and moped
The reed valve is an integral part of the intake system. It usually sits under the intake manifold.
How does a reed valve work?
The reed valve is usually V-shaped and is equpped with two blades. When the reed valve is opened, mixture will flow; when the reed valve is closed, the flow is significantly reduced. The flow is controlled by the opening of the carburetor slide, which controls the amount of mixture and affects RPM.
What kind of reed valve?
The type and shape of the reed valve can affect engine performance. Common types include the V-Force reed valve in a W-shape with 4 reed petals, and oversize versions with more volume than the original reed valves.
Adjusting the reed valve
You can improve engine output by using petals in different thicknesses, or by using a stuffer or a reed valve spacer. You can influence the mixture flow, which can affect the overall performance of the engine.
Note: When installing also change the intake gasket!
