Drive Pulley Polini Evolution P.R.E. 14° Piaggio
We offer an oversize drive pulley with a 14° slope and fixed fan blades for Polini P.R.E. / Evolution engines. The pulley was specifically developed for high-performance Polini P.R.E. setups, but it can also be used in other tuning transmissions.
A steeper angle improves power transmission and throttle response at high RPMs, while integrated cooling fins ensure more efficient cooling in the variator area.
Advantages Polini Air Speed
With an increased diameter of 115 mm and made of anodized aluminum alloy, the drive pulley stands out due to its aerodynamically shaped, backward-facing cooling fins. This special design increases airflow in the variator and transmission area by up to 30%, especially at high speeds between 13,000 and 15,000 RPM.
The 14-degree angle angle ensures sporty power transmission. Combined with the improved cooling, the drive pulley provides stable belt guidance for efficient power delivery.

CVT Pulleys
Pulleys are an integral part of the CVT system on scooters and mopeds with automatic CVT transmission.
The continuously variable transmission consists of fixed and moving pulleys, the V-belt rises and falls between them depending on the engine speed, changing the speed of the vehicle.
When should you change a pulley?
There are two reasons for replacing pulleys:
- Wear and tear. Although pulleys are relatively durable, the constant sliding of the V-belt can deform the surface.
- Tuning. Different pulley angles and diameters can improve the handling of scooters or mopeds.
Note: A CVT variator can only do a good job when CVT pulleys as well as torque drive pulleys are compatible with each other. Pitches and diameters of the individual elements must be matched so that the V-belt can glide evenly.
