For Polini P.R.E. / Evolution engines we can offer you an oversize pulley with 12.5° pitch and fixed fan blades. The pulley was specially developed for performance-enhanced Polini P.R.E. setups, but can also be used in other tuning transmissions.
Advantages of Polini Air Speed
With an increased diameter of 115 mm and manufactured from anodized aluminum alloy, it stands out thanks to its aerodynamically shaped, backward-curved cooling fins. This special design increases the airflow within the CVT/transmission area by up to 30% – especially at high engine speeds between 13,000 and 15,000 rpm.
In addition, the power absorbed by the crankshaft is reduced by 5%. As a result, engine performance remains consistently at the highest level while ensuring maximum efficiency.
Also available as a fan wheel with 14° pitch.

CVT Pulleys
Pulleys are an integral part of the CVT system on scooters and mopeds with automatic CVT transmission.
The continuously variable transmission consists of fixed and moving pulleys, the V-belt rises and falls between them depending on the engine speed, changing the speed of the vehicle.
When should you change a pulley?
There are two reasons for replacing pulleys:
- Wear and tear. Although pulleys are relatively durable, the constant sliding of the V-belt can deform the surface.
- Tuning. Different pulley angles and diameters can improve the handling of scooters or mopeds.
Note: A CVT variator can only do a good job when CVT pulleys as well as torque drive pulleys are compatible with each other. Pitches and diameters of the individual elements must be matched so that the V-belt can glide evenly.
