Seals for motorcycles, scooters and mopeds

Gaskets are essential components to ensure the sealing and correct operation of the engine. Their function is critical: an accurate seal prevents fluid leaks, pre-compression losses in the crankcase and unwanted air ingress that could compromise the mechanical reliability of any two-wheeled vehicle.

Engine seals: types, materials and applications

Choosing the correct gasket material and thickness is essential for reliable sealing. When making a repair, purchasing a complete set is the smartest solution, as it allows you to renew all critical points at once and avoid having to disassemble the engine twice.

  • Complete gasket kits: The ideal choice for complete engine rebuilds (high and low engine gaskets).
  • Cylinder head and cylinder gaskets: Vital for maintaining accurate compression and withstanding high combustion chamber temperatures.
  • Intake and reed box gaskets: Crucial in 2-stroke (2T) engines to avoid air intakes and misalignment of carburetion.
  • Water pump and crankcaseseals: Specifically designed to resist the constant flow of coolant and engine oil without degrading.
  • O-rings and seals: Fundamental for sealing drain plugs, fittings, suspensions and hydraulic circuits.
  • Universal gasket sheets: Sheets of gasket paper, aluminum or graphite to cut and manufacture custom gaskets.

Wear due to temperature and pressure is inevitable over time. That is why mechanics recommend replacing gaskets whenever the engine block is opened or suspicious moisture is detected. A brand new gasket at each assembly is the best investment to maintain the original compression and extend the life of the motorcycle, scooter or moped.
