Cylinder kits for scooters

In most cases, 50cc scooters are equipped with two-stroke engines. Here, the cylinder itself controls the fuel mixture. Although upgrades and repairs to scooter cylinders are mechanically relatively simple, it is not necessarily easy to effectively optimize performance.

Due to modern emission standards, many scooters are now also offered as four-stroke models. In these engines, the cylinder head with the camshafts and other components handle the control and determine the power output. This mechanics is somewhat more complex for beginners.

In our online shop, you will find all parts and accessories for cylinders of the most popular models: Yamaha Aerox and Jog, Malaguti F10 / F12, Piaggio Zip, NRG and Typhoon, Peugeot Speedfight, as well as many other scooters with engines from Minarelli, Piaggio, Peugeot, Morini, CPI, GY6...

Cylinder kit

In a two-stroke engine, the cylinder is the central component that determines the performance level. For better orientation, we have divided the cylinders into four performance levels: Original, Sport, Racing, and High-End.

For four-stroke engines, you will find Big Bore kits with a larger bore for increased displacement. Note: some of these kits require a specific cylinder head!

This classification is particularly important if you want to re-tune and optimize your engine. It allows you to select an exhaust and a crankshaft from the same performance levels. This contributes to both performance optimization and reliability.

Pistons, cylinder heads, camshafts, and valves

When approaching restoration or repair, it is not always necessary to replace the entire cylinder. That is why we also offer individual original pistons, pistons for tuning kits, and matching cylinder heads.

Here as well, you will find both high-quality tuning parts and standard parts in OEM quality or suitable replicas at affordable prices.

Note: If you want to tune a four-stroke engine, you will find the parts that have the greatest impact on performance in these two subcategories.

Gaskets

For every cylinder, we offer individual gaskets as well as complete gasket sets to carry out repairs cost-effectively. If you are looking for the right gaskets for a specific cylinder, for example for a 70cc cylinder kit, you can visit the corresponding product page of the cylinder and find the matching replacement gaskets under spare parts.

Accessories

Scooter mechanics is full of surprises, so more specific components often need to be replaced. In the cylinder accessories subcategory, we offer many useful small parts for scooters: cylinder studs, temperature sensors, various fittings, screws, spacers, base gaskets, etc.

Brands and manufacturers

To offer you high-quality parts, we work with well-known brands.

For parts in OEM quality, we source these directly from the manufacturers (Yamaha, Minarelli, Piaggio, GY6...), but also from specialists for affordable replicas like Moto Force.

For tuning, we trust the most famous brands from the world of racing: Polini, Malossi, 2Fast, Bidalot, Stage6 R/T and Stage6, as well as many others!

Navigation and helpful tips

While browsing our various categories, you will find many details and tips at the bottom of the page. It is worth reading these so you can make your order with the right information.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about scooter cylinders

⇒ When should I replace the piston?

If the engine loses power but still runs cleanly, the piston is likely worn. The replacement interval depends on the installed cylinder. The higher the RPM and the more intensive the use, the more often the piston should be replaced. For original cylinders, around 10,000 km; for racing engines, a maximum of 10 to 15 operating hours.

⇒ When should the cylinder be replaced?

Typical signs of wear include scoring in the cylinder wall, ovality exceeding 0.1 mm, damaged transfer ports, or a piston seizure. Recommendation: given today's low costs, it is usually more worthwhile to buy a new cylinder rather than laboriously reconditioning the old one.

⇒ Why do i get piston seizures and how can this be avoided?

A piston seizure usually occurs when the piston overheats and gets stuck in the cylinder wall. This can be avoided through proper maintenance and a correctly adjusted carburetor.

Prevention: adjust the carburetor correctly, use high-quality mixing oil with a ratio between 2% and 5% according to manufacturer specifications, observe a break-in period of 100 to 150 km, keep cooling fins clean, clean the carburetor after long periods of inactivity, let the engine warm up for 2 to 3 minutes before riding, and regularly clean the air filter.

The cylinder - the heart of the engine

The cylinder with piston and cylinder head is the heart of an engine. The piston stroke generated in the cylinder produces a rotary motion via the crankshaft, which is ultimately transmitted to the wheel and thus causes the two-wheeler to move. In combination with and with the help of the other components important for the function of the engine, such as the crankshaft, carburetor, intake system, transmission, ignition and exhaust, the cylinder performs the 2-stroke movement. In the first step, compression and combustion of the fuel-air mixture takes place. In the second step, the exhaust gases produced during combustion escape and pre-compressed fresh gas is drawn in. Bore (inner diameter of the piston track) and stroke (distance between top and bottom dead center) are the parameters that ultimately determine the displacement of an engine.

Major brands such as Motoforce, MXS Racing, Stage6, Top Performances, Bidalot, Airsal, Polini, Metrakit and 2Fast produce cylinders with displacements ranging from 50cc to 90cc.

huge selection of cylinders

Since cylinders are among the most relevant components, we carry an extremely wide selection of cylinders in all price ranges, for a hige variety of engines and for every conceivable application. The kits are always supplied with piston, piston ring(s) and circlips and usually also with cylinder head and the gaskets required for installation.

We sell OEM quality 50cc cylinders that replace the original cylinder fitted by the manufacturer as standard, normally with a slight increase in power. These kits are street-legal and can be used legally on public roads. The 49cc cylinders offer excellent value for money.

For all riders who need more power, we can offer Sport, Racing or High-End cylinders in cast iron or aluminum. Tuning cylinders are available in every price range from many different manufacturers:

and many many more.

In our catalog you will of course also find extremely powerful cylinders 70ccm and even higher, which are clearly intended for racing. Outside of race tracks you better not be seen with these extremely powerful kits!

Our cylinders are available for (almost) all scooters, mopeds and 50cc motorcycles / supermotos available on the market, no matter if it is an older or a brand new model.
