The chassis – the foundation of your scooter

The chassis consists of the frame, suspension, wheels, and everything that supports the engine and connects it to the road. The condition and quality of the chassis components have a direct impact on handling.

It must therefore be maintained and adapted in the case of performance upgrades or specific uses such as racing.

Scooter chassis: key components and tips

Suspension / shock absorbers

The design of a scooter suspension is relatively simple, roughly halfway between a motorcycle and a moped. Typically, it consists of a telescopic fork (exceptions include the Piaggio Zip SP and Peugeot Speedfight 1/2) and a side-mounted central shock absorber directly attached to the engine casing.

To appeal to both everyday scooter riders and racers, many well-known brands offer replacement parts in OEM quality as well as racing components to improve the chassis.

In both cases, the good condition of the suspension is essential for safety and handling.

We offer numerous spare parts and consumables such as oil for cost-effective repairs.

Triple clamps, steering head bearings and more

The maintenance of chassis pivot points is important for maintaining road grip. Triple clamps, steering head bearings, subframe and engine mounts as well as silent blocks and wheel axles are available individually.

For a long service life, these parts should be regularly greased.
