Motocross handlebars: 50cc to 500cc

In the 50cc segment with mostly Supermoto and Enduro bikes, motocross-style handlebars are generally used. Suitable handlebars are also available for sport motorcycles.

We work with well-known brands such as Renthal, Scar, Neken, Stage6, STR8, or KRM.

Handlebars are fundamentally universal; however, there are several points you should consider when making a selection. Here is the most important information.

The right handlebar for your motorcycle

Mounting diameter

The diameter is crucial for handlebars. Some models are designed for so-called Fatbar handlebars with a 28.6mm diameter. Others, mostly older models, use 22.2mm handlebars. If you want to mount a 28mm handlebar without a crossbar onto a motorcycle with a 22mm mount, you will need matching handlebar clamps.

We offer handlebar clamps in universal versions as well as model-specific versions for Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, Honda, or Suzuki.

Note: Universal handlebar clamps increase the handlebar position by approximately 15 to 20 mm.

Motorcycle size

A suitable handlebar should be chosen for kids' motorcycles. Handlebars for minibikes such as 50 SX, KX 65, or YZ 85 are narrower (approx. 700 to 770 mm) than those for adult motorcycles (usually 800 to 815 mm).

This makes the motorcycle easier to control.

Handlebars matching your height

Not every handlebar is equally suitable for a comfortable riding position. The shape is a matter of preference, but the height affects control. Generally:

  • Taller riders benefit from higher handlebars to avoid back strain and an awkward seating position
  • Shorter riders often manage better with lower handlebars to apply more pressure to the front wheel and build grip

Several attempts are often necessary to find the perfect setup. Depending on the application, a higher or lower handlebar may also be useful.
