Aprilia SR 50 Racing LC (Minarelli engine) – General information
The Aprilia SR 50 is one of the best-known sport scooters from the Italian brand. Since its launch in 1992, it stood out with a modern, aggressive design clearly inspired by racing machines. Over the years, the model range evolved and sportier versions such as the SR 50 Racing were introduced, offering more dynamic handling while retaining road approval.
The Racing version featured several upgrades compared with the standard model, including a transmission with long-stroke configuration, a more aggressively designed ramp plate, and stiffer clutch springs for improved take-off. In addition, the carburetor settings were optimized to the limits of homologation, complemented by a sporty look in the style of Grand Prix motorcycles.
The first SR 50 Racing models, produced approximately between 1997 and 2000, were equipped with the well-known horizontal Minarelli liquid-cooled engine. This engine remains one of the most popular choices in the tuning scene due to its reliability, simple design, and the wide range of spare parts and accessories available.

Engine
This version is equipped with the liquid-cooled Minarelli single-cylinder 2-stroke engine with 49 cc displacement. Mixture preparation is handled by a 12 mm DellOrto carburetor, specifically tuned within the permitted regulations. The liquid cooling system ensures optimal heat dissipation, which is important both for daily use and for modified engines.
