The variator plays an important role in engine acceleration. Therefore, it is recommended to choose products known for their compatibility to achieve a smooth transmission ratio. The Polini Hi-Speed variator for mopeds was specifically developed to replace the original centrifugal variators on mopeds. This variator provides more pull and acceleration as well as easier tuning through the use of roller weights.
The Polini Hi-Speed variator for scooters enables better acceleration and a higher top speed. Since it is usually supplied with two sets of weights and often with clutch and torque springs, this variator is suitable for simple setups. Equipped with 16x13mm weights, it features a standard range compatible with the original torque drive.
The Maxi Hi-Speed variator (maxi-scooter) is equipped with 12 weights for better mass distribution. Thanks to the ramps developed by Polini, this variator offers a significant gain in acceleration and pull.
For setups intended for racing, Polini also offers over-range CVTs in the Hi-Speed Evolution 2 series. This series is intended for high-performance engines with racing or high-end racing cylinders.
