Taillight Lens
The tail light lens is the plastic or glass cover of the rear position light (with brake light, turn signal...).
Tail light lenses have two functions:
- Seals the bulb to prevent short circuiting.
- Ensures that the rear lights have the correct colour.
Tail lights and matching lenses are mandatory for riding the vehicle on public roads, so a defective tail light lens must be replaced ASAP.
Customizing with coloured lenses
Tail light lenses are required by law, but there is enough room to bring a bit of custom style into play.
There are white transparent lenses, tinted lenses, carbon look lenses and even tail light paint that you can use to color your tail lights to your liking. If you decide to go with custom lenses, you may want to use colored bulbs.
