Ignition Switch

In our store you will find numerous model specific ignition switches and other locks for many models. You can install them without further modifications instead of the original models.

Ignition lock function

On a motorcycle or scooter, an ignition switch can have several functions. The most important one is, of course, opening and closing the circuit via the spark plug so the engine will run. In doing so, the ignition lock also activates the 12-volt voltage to power the speedometer, vehicle lights and other electrical instruments. In some cases, the lock is combined with a handlebar lock to protect against theft.

If you want to convert your motorcycle into a racer, remove certain functions and simplify the wiring harness, you can replace the ignition lock with a killswitch.
