Es gibt verschiedene Arten von Schmierstoffen. Es ist wichtig, je nach Anwendungsgebiet und Einsatzzweck das richtige Schmiermittel zu wählen:
- Kupferhaltiges Hochtemperaturfett: wird häufig bei Komponenten verwendet, die großer Hitze ausgesetzt sind
- Keramikfett: für Auspuffanlagen, Zündkerzen usw.
- Mehrzweckfett: wird für die Lager des Fahrgestells empfohlen
Das regelmäßige Schmieren bestimmter Lager (z. B. Lenk- oder Schwingarmlager) kann ihre Lebensdauer verlängern.
