Loctite SI 5926 silicone sealant blue
The Loctite SI 5926 sealant is a universal and elastic silicone sealant. It hardens under the influence of air humidity to form a tough but flexible silicone rubber seal.
Loctite Silicone Sealant is designed to seal joints in engines and other vehicle components that are exposed to extreme conditions. The unique formulation of this sealant provides a strong bond and seal between metal, plastic, glass and ceramic surfaces with exceptional resistance to vibration, moisture and high temperatures.
Typical applications include valve covers, oil pans, differential covers and water pumps.
The temperature range is between -50 °C and 205 °C
Dichtmasse
Wie der Name schon sagt, dient Dichtmasse der Abdichtung von Komponenten. Es gibt verschiedenen Marken, Zusammensetzungen, Einsatzgebiete, Farben und mehr oder weniger hitzefeste Arten.
Flüssigdichtungen und Silikon Dichtmasse sind zwar ein absolutes Must-have für jede Werkstatt, sind aber nur in bestimmten Fällen wirklich notwendig. Meistens sind sie in erster Line Pannenhilfe und ersetzen keine echte Reparatur.
Daher ist es in der Regel besser, die vorgesehenen Spezial Dichtungen zu verwenden, auch wenn Silikon und Dictmasse zusätzlich beim Abdichten helfen.
Bitte beachtet, dass Dichtmasse und Kit nicht überall eingesetzt werden kann! Sie können zum Beispiel keine Wellendichtringe oder O-Ringe ersetzen.
