CBE Hybrid Crankcase for Mopeds
CBE (C. Bouchet Engineering) engine cases, CNC‑machined from high‑grade aluminum. They were developed for building extremely high‑performance engine setups while offering versatile installation options. They allow the construction of a hybrid moped engine based on Derbi components, with broad compatibility ranging from 50cc setups to more advanced FL conversions.
Installation of the Hybrid Crankcase for Classic Mopeds
These cases were designed for plug‑and‑play installation with numerous Derbi parts and accept Derbi Euro 2 as well as Euro 3/4 crankshafts, Derbi‑type ignitions and Derbi Euro 3/4 cylinder kits. Thanks to the included adapter plate, they can also take cylinders with FL stud spacing. On the intake side, they are designed for a Derbi‑type reed valve with 60x40 mm bolt spacing and already feature the required machining for installing a VForce3i reed valve.
The design provides an excellent base for building both small‑ and large‑displacement engines. The cases are designed for a rod clearance suitable for a 45 mm stroke and allow, depending on the configuration, crank webs up to 84 mm in diameter. The base alignment follows the original Derbi standard to simplify installation of compatible cylinders.
On the ignition side, all systems intended for Derbi can be mounted, whether original, Stage6, MVT DD, Malossi or similar types. For the transmission, these cases are designed to accept a variator using a sleeve adapted to a Derbi crankshaft. They also offer enough space for installing variators with a range of up to 120 mm.
