Racing carburetor dellorto PHDG 18mm
New release 2024 from carb specialist Dell'Orto: the PHDG carburetor. The Dellorto PHDG was specifically designed for high-performance 2- and 4-stroke engines.
This is the PHDG AN variant, which is primarily intended for karting, other sizes and variants can be found here: Carburetor Dellorto PHDG. With homologation (054-CA-15) by FIA KARTING INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
INFO: AN refers to the variants with perforated emulsion tube (2-stroke), AU with closed emulsion tube (4-stroke). However, this classification is not binding, as both variants function across engine types; all PHDG carburetors therefore have a 2-stroke oil port regardless of the type of emulsion tube.
Dellorto PHDG carburetor
The round, flow-optimized passage ensures a high air flow rate, direct throttle response and a noticeable increase in power. The special air intake profile delivers direct response as soon as the throttle is opened.
The aluminium body with aluminium float chamber is lightweight, low-wear and offers good heat dissipation; the anodized carburetor cover and float chamber screw plug round off the racing finish.
The aluminum throttle slide with special surface treatment reduces wear and ensures particularly smooth, precise operation.
The carburetor is equipped with a vacuum and oil port, with the oil connection fitted with a check valve to prevent dripping.
It has a 46 mm air filter connection as standard, which can be expanded to 60 mm using an adapter.

Der reibungslose Betrieb und die optimale Leistungsausbeute eures Rollers, Motorrads oder Mopeds hängt unter anderem vom Vergaser ab, dessen Job es ist, die richtige Mischung aus Luft und Benzin zu erzeugen.
Vergaser funktionsweise
Wenn der Fahrer den Gasgriff betätigt, bewegt sich der Vergaserschieber nach oben und erhöht so den Luftstrom, der durch den Luftfilter angesaugt wird. Der Vergaser mischt diese Luft dann mit Benzin, wodurch ein brennbares Gemisch entsteht. Dieses Gemisch wird durch den Ansaugstutzen und den Membranblock in den Zylinder geleitet.
Der Vergaser ist mit Düsen ausgestattet, um das Verhältnis von Benzin und Luft einzustellen und so für ein optimales Luft-Benzin-Verhältnis zu sorgen. Es ist wichtig, dass ihr die Vergasereinstellungen an das Setup eures Motors anpasst.
Vergaser Einstellen
Die richtige Einstellung des Vergasers ist entscheidend für den optimalen Betrieb und die Haltbarkeit des Motors. Je nachdem, welche Art von Luftfilter, Zylinder und Auspuff ihr verbaut habt, müsst ihr Haupt- und Nebendüsen nachjustieren. Um das korrekte Funktionieren des Vergaser zu überprüfen, könnt ihr euch an der Farbe der Zündkerze orientieren (Kerzengesicht):
- Weiße Zündkerze = zu mager
- Schwarze Zündkerze = zu fett
- Braune Zündkerze = optimale Einstellung
