Description
Galfer floating brake disc 220mm with R90 approval
Floating Galfer oversize brake disc with 220 mm outer diameter. Designed for reliable braking performance in everyday use and under demanding conditions.
This is an oversize brake disc with a 220 mm diameter (standard 190 mm). Oversize brake discs significantly improve braking performance. They also provide a larger surface area for heat dissipation, reducing the risk of brake fade under heavy load.
Note: a special brake caliper is required, please order separately.
Advantages of floating brake discs
- Consistent braking performance even under high load
- Reduced warping due to heat build-up
- Improved brake feel, consistent pressure point and good modulation
ECE-R90 approval
Unlike many other brands, Galfer brake components meet the ECE-R90 standard and represent tested quality, consistent performance and full interchangeability with OEM components. The ECE-R90 approval confirms that the brake disc complies with European requirements for replacement parts and can therefore be legally installed.

Motorcycle and scooter brake disk
The brake disc on the front wheel and / or rear wheel play an essential role in the braking system of motorcycles and scooters.
Brake rotors are firmly attached to the wheel or wheel hub with brake bolts. They work in conjunction with the brake pads, which are pressed onto the brake discs via the brake caliper. This pressure creates the friction that is important for braking, which allows the vehicle to slow down and come to a stop.
When to change the brake rotor?
Brake pads wear out faster than brake discs and need to be replaced regularly. Brake discs, on the other hand, can last between 20,000 and 40,000 kilometers, depending on driving conditions. It is recommended that you monitor brake pad wear and inspect brake rotors for signs of excessive wear or deformation. If you see any sign of damage, the brake disc should be replaced.
No matter if standard, wave or floating - when you install a new brake disc on your scooter or motorcycle, you should also replace the brake pads at the same time. You should securely fasten front or rear brake disc with threadlocker.
