Malossi E8 air filter for PHBG carburetors
The Malossi E8 air filter was developed for mopeds with Dell'Orto PHBG carburetors. Relatively flat and compact, ideal for mounting on models with limited space. Despite its rather small size, it delivers sufficient air flow to the carburetor.

Made of self-extinguishing polyurethane with an open-cell structure, the Malossi E8 reliably filters dirt out of the intake air and thus protects the engine from damage. The removable housing makes cleaning and maintenance easy and contributes to a long service life and consistent performance. Note: The connection diameter is measured on the carburetor. The rubber mounts of air filters are often slightly smaller, as the rubber expands during installation.
what are the benefits of open air filters?
Pod air filters are installed in place of the original air filter box of scooters, motorcycles or even mopeds to increase the air flow and thus improve performance and cooling of the engine.
However, using an open pod filter can make the vehicle louder, leads to slightly worse fuel economy, and it is possible that water gets into the engine during heavy rain. But what the heck - open air filters just sound great!
Just as with original air filter inserts, it is important to clean the air filter regularly with air filter cleaner.
Note: When installing an open sport air filter, the carburetor must be readjusted, i.e. in most cases the jet has to be changed.
