PGO Big Max 50 - General information

PGO is a scooter brand and part of Motive Power Industry (MPI) that was founded in 1964 and started license production for the well-known Italian Vespa manufacturer Piaggio in 1972, from which the abbreviation "P.G.O." is probably derived (PiaGgiO). The company has been developing and producing their own scooters since 1984. The quality of these products is in the upper mid-range. They build 50 cc to 150 cc scooters, both two- and four-stroke versions. The most successful two-wheelers include the BigMax, Star and T-Rex scooter models. In 1992/1993, they even tried their hands at producing a motorcycle and developed the PGO V2 1600cc, a motorcycle with a 2-cylinder 4-stroke V-engine and 1600 cc displacement and chain drive. Although the model was built and sold, it did not become a success.

PGO Big Max - Engine

The PGO Big Max is a 50cc scooter with a long, air-cooled, horizontal Minarelli replica engine, a carburetor to prepare the mixture and a modern CVT transmission with a V-belt.

Big Max 50 - Chassis

The front suspension consists of a hydraulic telescopic fork and the rear suspension consists of a single monoshock shock absorber. The brake system consists of a single disc (Ø 150mm) at the front and a drum brake at the rear (Ø 110mm).
